Green Card in November: USCIS Is Accepting I‑485 Filings Under the Dates for Filing Chart — for Both Work and Family
In November 2026, you can file to change status inside the U.S. under the earlier chart of dates for all family and employment categories.
A follow-up for those waiting on a green card through work or family.
In October, I told you that USCIS was accepting applications under the Dates for Filing chart. For November 2026, the rule is the same, and USCIS says so explicitly for both groups:
- for all family-sponsored categories — the Dates for Filing chart;
- for all employment-based categories — the Dates for Filing chart.
That means you can file Form I-485 when your priority date is earlier than the date in the Dates for Filing chart. But a green card can be approved only once your date is also current in the Final Action Dates chart.
My advice: check your date against the November Visa Bulletin and talk to an immigration attorney — the chart is chosen anew every month.
